The Double Deep rack is essentially made up of the following components:

• Load-Bearing Upright Frame:

Operation of Double Deep Racking

To utilize Double Deep Pallet Racking, warehouses must be equipped with specialized reach trucks that have extendable forks for accessing deeper pallets. Due to the increased racking depth, standard forklifts cannot reach the rear pallets directly.

Inbound Process (Loading Pallets)

The operator identifies the designated storage location for the pallet.
The first pallet is placed deep inside the rack, followed by the second pallet positioned in front of it.

This process continues, with two additional pallets placed on the outer row of the racking level.

Since each Double Deep rack level can store up to 8 pallets, the operator repeats the same steps for the opposite side of the aisle.

Outbound Process (Retrieving Pallets)

Double Deep Racking follows the LIFO (Last In, First Out) inventory method, meaning that the last pallet loaded is the first to be retrieved.
